Habit Streaks
Habit Streaks
Build daily routines with streak tracking that keeps you accountable.
Habits are the core of rituall. They help you turn repeated actions into long-term routines. Each habit you complete adds to your streak — a count of consecutive days you've kept it up.
Creating a habit
- Navigate to the Habits section from the sidebar.
- Click 'Add Habit' and give it a clear name (e.g. 'Morning walk', 'Read 10 pages', 'Meditate 5 min').
- Choose a frequency — Daily, Weekly, or Custom days.
- Your habit appears in today's list. Check it off once completed.
- Edit or delete a habit anytime from the habit settings.
Example: Build a reading habit
- 1Create habit named 'Read 20 pages' with Daily frequency.
- 2Day 1: Read 20 pages, check it off. Streak: 1 day.
- 3Day 2: Read 20 pages, check it off. Streak: 2 days.
- 4Day 3: Missed. Streak resets to 0.
- 5Day 4: Read 20 pages. New streak begins: 1 day.
Streaks explained
- A streak counts consecutive days you complete the habit in your timezone.
- Your streak only resets if you miss a full calendar day (12 AM — 11:59 PM in your timezone).
- The dashboard shows your current streak and all-time longest streak.
- Miss a day? That's okay — start fresh tomorrow. Consistency builds over months and years, not days.
Tips for strong streaks
- Start small — a 5-minute habit is easier to stick with than a 1-hour one.
- Pick a consistent time of day. Morning habits tend to have higher completion rates.
- Don't break the chain — even a minimal effort counts. 'Read 1 page' is better than 'Read nothing'.
- Use the Overview dashboard to see all your habits at a glance.
Example: Habit ideas to try
- 1Morning: 'Drink a glass of water', 'Stretch 5 min', 'Write 3 gratitude points'
- 2Afternoon: 'Walk 10 min after lunch', 'Study 25 min (Pomodoro)'
- 3Evening: 'Read 10 pages', 'Plan tomorrow's tasks', 'No phone 30 min before bed'
